Vermont Commission on Native American Affairs Minutes for the meeting on November 19, 2009

Where: AOT Boardroom 5th floor National Life Drive, Montpelier, Vermont


1. Charles made opening comments.

2. Judy made a motion to revise the agenda and discuss Charles’ comments. Charles said no and there was no Second.

3. A motion was made by Charles to table the minutes until everyone sees the minutes. Jeanne seconded the motion.  Consensus. The minutes were tabled for approval until the next meeting.

4. Tim announced that the web site is up and working. The new web site address is: VCNAA.Vermont.gov  

5. Jeanne made a motion that the minutes be initially a draft and that they go to the commission members first and after they are approved by the commission they can be made public.
Charles amended the motion to add “official” minutes.
Tim Seconded. After discussion Jeanne withdrew the motion from the table.
6.  Tim made a motion to construct procedures that address the note taking process. Jeanne Seconded. Consensus.

7. Judy made a motion to collect approved processes into a collective body called Policies and Procedures.  Tim seconded. Consensus. Tim and Judy said they would work together on this project.

8. Charles made a motion to organize a public discussion meeting for NA communities and he would organize one for Chittenden County first. Tim seconded. Consensus.

9. Tim made a motion to look for a new sponsor for our bill. Judy seconded. Consensus.
Charles will contact Senator Sears.
