S.222 and similar Abenaki Recognition bills 1:10-1:55 1) Commission Members’ presentation of supporting facts regarding opposition to current language 2) Commission Members’ presentation of facts regarding non-tribal Abenaki and other Native American people and bands not on tribal roles 3) Commission Members’ plans for working with non-Alliance Abenaki and other Native Americans in Vermont STRETCH BREAK – Please only FIVE minutes. (Re: need for Abenakis to write “Abenaki” and then any tribal/band affiliation – e.g., Abenaki Missisquoi – to get correct Abenaki population count (important for Indian Education Funds, etc.) b) Suggested links from Commission site to others: I.)
