Muscogee Nation paramedics stopped by state trooper Tuesday, June 2, 2009 NOT RECOMMENDED FOR DIAL UP
Two Muscogee (Creek) Nation paramedics could face charges over a scuffle with an Oklahoma state trooper. Paul Franks and Maurice White Jr. were transporting a woman to a hospital when they were pulled over by trooper Daniel Martin. According to Martin, the ambulance Franks was driving failed to yield. Martin also believed Franks displayed an obscene gesture with his hand, which Franks denied. A scuffle ensued but no tickets were ever issued during the incident, parts of which were recorded on video. After another trooper arrived at the scene, Franks and White were allowed to transport the woman to the hospital. The troopers have submitted their reports to a district attorney for possible charges.
